Queen Elizabeth dies; Chinese pine nut picker lives




Queen’s eldest son becomes King Charles III at start of 10 days of mourning.

Her Majesty the Queen is dead at 96.

The last day of the week has arrived and with it, momentous and sad news of the death of the world’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. 

At 5.30am NZT, a tweet from ‘The Royal Family’ account announced “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon”.
