Prince Andrew ‘secretly visiting Queen every night under the cover of darkness’ – source

Prince Andrew, the Queen’s favourite son, drove to his mother’s home in Windsor Castle every night last week to hash out his whopping £12million settlement to alleged “sex slave” Virginia Giuffre, a royal source claims.

Driving the eight kilometres between his Royal Lodge home, which he shares with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, to his mother’s castle, it is claimed the duke also been discussing his future role as a working royal with his mum during furtive nightly visits.

Questions have been raised over how the duke, who is selling his plush £16million Swiss ski chalet, will pay for the settlement and his hefty legal bill, which is said to be also in the millions.

It has led to suspicion that The Queen may help her son out with his massive debt.

A royal insider believes Prince Andrew has been making clandestine visits in efforts to keep out of sight and away from public eye, reports The Sun.

They said: “He knows there are photographers in the daytime and his best chance to avoid them is after dark.

“He knows he is meant to be keeping his head down and it’s a short trip, but he is extremely contrite and apologised to the Queen for all the trouble he has caused her.”

The prince, who turned 62 yesterday, has had a major fall from grace following his legal battle with Ms Giuffre, who has accused him of forcing her to have sex with him when she was 17-years-old.

While Prince Andrew has rejected the claim, his brother Prince Charles, 73, and nephew Prince William, 39, were both keen for Andrew to settle the case, and the royal insider said that the Duke is aware of just how serious the issue is and the damage it has done to the monarchy

They continued: “The last thing he wanted to do was cause his beloved mother so much anguish at her age and in her Platinum Jubilee year.

“He is just so grateful for her support and it’s certainly true that the Queen has a soft spot for Andrew and regards him as her favourite son.”

This is not the first time Andrew has turned to his mother for help.

Last summer, he made two round trips to the Queen’s Balmoral residence in Scotland after American lawyers tried to serve the duke Ms Giuffre’s writ, and last month his older brother Prince Charles told his him to stop being papped driving into Windsor Castle looking chipper.

The duke has been stripped of titles and so what comes next for him as a royal has also been on his mind.

Some people think he might follow Prince Harry’s footsteps and relocate to America for a fresh start.

The Sun reports that a top US lawyer has said Prince Andrew could even get a “second chance” across the pond, despite the FBI wanting to question him over the Epstein case.

LA attorney Lisa Bloom — who represents six Epstein victims — said: “People will tend to say, ‘Well, you know, he paid his settlement, it’s over, we’ll give him a second chance’.

“There’s that kind of an attitude in America.

“It’s certainly not a bad idea for him to go somewhere far away from the UK and try to do something different with his life.”
