Douglas Luiz’s partner Alisha Lehmann bags Soccer AM top bin

Aston Villa forward Alisha Lehmann delighted Soccer AM fans by smashing a penalty into the top bin live on air – to the delight of her fellow footballer boyfriend Douglas Luiz.

Lehmann, who has 34 caps for her native Switzerland, celebrated with hosts Jimmy Bullard and John Fendley after putting the ball into the top corner of the goal at her first attempt of the challenge.

The 23-year-old has brought in a huge social media following of 7.4million since leaving BSC Young Boys’ Women for West Ham back in 2018, and Soccer AM’s upload of the strike has gathered more than 50,000 views.

One of those to react was fellow Villa professional and Brazil international Luiz, who wrote on her own upload with heart and fire emojis: “The best.”

Lehmann and Luiz, also 23, made their relationship official back in January after Lehman posted a picture of the pair kissing with the caption: “Te amo.”

That translates to “Love you” with Luiz writing “I love you amor” in the comments.

Before dating Luiz, Lehmann had been in a relationship with former Chelsea forward Ramona Bachmann, whom she featured alongside on BBC Three series Britain’s Youngest Football Boss during her time as a West Ham player.

When talking about her football idols in a recent interview with Gaffer, Lehmann mentioned Bachmann while speaking of her status as a trailblazer for women’s football.

She said: “It’s really amazing. That’s what I had when I was sixteen/seventeen. I had all my role models like Lara Dickenmann or Ramona Bachmann from Switzerland that I was mesmerised by and really looked up to.”

Lehmann has managed four goals across all competitions for Villa since her summer switch from West Ham, which came after a short-term loan deal with Everton.

Carla Ward’s side currently sit ninth of 12 teams in the WSL table with two fixtures remaining, and safe from potential relegation.

Luiz, who joined Villa from Manchester City in 2019, has played 29 times in all competitions this season and scored once.
